My story begins over a decade ago, when my people first made contact with another planet, called Earth. We began learning of each other's cultures, and three years ago I arrived on Earth, the first visitor from another planet, to serve as an ambassador for my culture.

It seems so many are familiar with this Earth. Which seems entirely backward and archaic. Why spend any time on it, at all?

Because, in my version of the universe, it was the first other planet containing sentient life to have been discovered.

A pity, that most of them seem so stupid.

You and I must have had very different experiences with Earthlings. I find them a fascinating people, great conversationalists, with a history as diverse as their world's cultures.

It's one planet, without much ability to travel beyond their orbit.

But perhaps I look for more in a people.

My own planet has only recently gained the ability to travel beyond our star system. Would you judge a whole civilization for their youth and inexperience?
